A simple pickleball warmup before your first game
A short, court-friendly routine to raise your temperature, wake up your feet, and make the first rally feel less abrupt.
Warm up with easy movement before hard stretching: walk or march, move your hips and shoulders, step side to side, then make a few comfortable shadow swings.
Raise the temperature first
Take a minute of easy walking, marching, or light court movement. The goal is to feel warmer and more awake, not tired.
Open the movements you use
Add arm circles, hip hinges, lateral steps, gentle calf raises, and a few controlled shoulder turns. Keep every movement comfortable.
Make the first balls easy
Start with a cooperative exchange before you jump into a fast game. Let your first few balls be practice, not proof.
